Hello,
I design a part made of 304 stainless steel.
I am afraid of directly using its threads because of the risk of cold welding in case of misusing bolts that are also made of stainless steel.
I thought about using helicoil with dry film lubrication, but have never seen such a soultion in stainless steel. I encountered helicoils in aluminum parts, but not in steel or stainless steel.

This is often done, as long as it is not exposed to corrosive conditions.
A PH SS would be a good option for an insert.

The lubricated Helicoils for aluminum also work for stainless steel.

Helicoils are also readily available in Nitronic 60 which is highly resistant to seizing against SS fasteners. No lubricant necessary.

Why you said "as long as it is not exposed to corossive environment"?
