Heat Treatment for SS304 After U Bend

Is It Necessary to do heat treatment for SS 304 3/4" tube after U bending?

It depends on the service application. If you want maximum corrosion resistance, yes, a solution anneal should be performed.

actually i know that annealing is necessary but i haven't accessing to ASM Metal handbook or any other forming refrences right now and i've to proof my claim

I would use ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section I or VIII, Div 1 as proof of claim.

I am wondering when heat treating 304 ss is necessary according to ASME Division VIII (2007)code. The final product is a ss pressure vessel.
