I need the heat treating specs for 7076 Aluminum.
The material is less than 1 mm thick

Need the solution treatment temperature and the T6 precipitation treatment.

Problem:
The supplier informed us that the stamped parts received are a mixed bag, some are annealed, some hardened, and some in between. Besides that about half are out of spec dimensionally.

from Alcoa website's tech data sheet for 7075, they refer the reader to:

MIL-H-6088

for details on heat treatment processes. Hopefully that's available on the assist site?

IF the specs for 7075 will work...

Solution: 480C - water quench
T6 Treatment - 120C - 24 hours

Source: ASM metals reference book 3rd edition

Whoops, you said 7076. Oh, well, same spec. applies.

Holler back if you have trouble finding it.

The cancellation notice reads: "Future heat treatment should refer to SAE-AMS-H-6088, “Heat Treatment of
Aluminum Alloys”."

Thanks for the information.

While I madly searching the supplier called and offered to redo all the parts form scratch with new material.

A quick resolution and an ending that makes everyone happy.
