We have a slurry tank heated to 135F. The slab is 36 in. and the 2 in. diameter anchor bolt is embedded 24 in. into the slab. Underneath the slab is a pump room we are assuming is kept at 80F. We need to know at what point the anchor bolt temperature drops to 120F to start using epoxy.

Is there a simplified method to do this calculation without having to do a finite element analysis?

I'm not sure you are going the find an answer with the degree of certainty that would make the adhesive 100% reliable. Or maybe you can find an adhesive which is still good well above 135.

Is there an opportunity to use a bolt with a mechanical type of anchorage? If in-place field adjustment is what you are looking for, I've had some luck with DECO adjustable anchors.

Unfortunately it is a retrofit and we are coring out the existing anchor bolts and replacing them with high strength bolts

There is likely not enough heat transfer from the tank to the bolt to get it to 120 deg.
