can anybody point me into the right direction of how to estimate the maximum temperature experienced during curing?

What size of concrete pour?

What type of cement (Type I or Type III Portland) and what pozzolanics/ash and admixtures?

Temperature of the concrete when placed?

Method and time of curing?

Too many different factors for a one sentence question.

There is a description with explanation on

EM 1110-2-542 Engineering and design. Thermal Studies of mass concrete structures. USACE (free internet download)

ACI 207.1 Mass concrete (here it is a simple method proposed by Schmidt)

Like concretemasonry and you can verify with this references, temperature goes over many factors
