Hello Everyone,

Someone asked me to perform Heat Load Calculation for Power Cables. As Electrical Engineer we always do the I^2.R Calculation. But how do we calculate HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning.

Question Asked :

Also when I performed the loss calculation is for Per Phase. But for Multi Core Cables how do we get the losses? (Do we just multiply with no. of cores?) [The Current I have chosen is based on No. of Cores and the Resistance for XLPE is at 90 C] but we get per phase value right. How to get for Multi Cores total losses?

Also is there a way to do HVAC Calculation for Cables? A person from GE told me they would do for transformer oil.

Thanks for Inputs.
