Has anyone verified the Trane Software?

My company has been using the Trane Trace 700 load and the Energy Analysis programs for HVAC work. A recent client asked us if these two programs have been verified and validated (VV). I would appreciate knowing if anyone has done VV on these programs.

I'm not sure what "verified & validated" means, but Trane will be the first to admit that any program is just a tool and all loads calcs should be verified by a PE. Having said that, i have never seen a situation where their program wasn't condisered acceptable for life-cycle cost/energy analysis.
