Hello all
First of all thanks for all of you.
I was a mechanical project engineer in pharmaceutical company over 5 years and i have knowledge in HVAC (Air conditioning mostly in Air handling units for clean rooms) but i have moved on to gulf region for a job change and i have attended the interview from a reputed company and they mainly serve industrial refrigeration related projects mostly cold room works. As i the technical manager says he could give mechanical foreman position for me and i accepted the offer but i am little hesitating before getting any offer letter because i am new to industrial refrigeration. If i start learning from today from scratch how many days will it takes to understand the basic concepts of them and i am more eager to learn the industrial standards and design practices. i strongly believe you people can guide me from where to start the process for beginners like me? any little information is valuable for my career benefits. Even i have got chances to get selected as a mechanical foreman, i need at least some basic design concepts from mechanical, electrical & instrumental knowledge.
Thanks again for your valuable comments.

How much do you know about HVAC and refrigeration already. It depends on how much you already know and exactly what you want to learn.

I am good at air handling unit related knowledge like designing clean rooms based on ISO standards especially because I have Pharmaceutical background but the issue is I am in the place of getting selected in industrial refrigeration field so obviously this is new to me because the refrigeration cycles such vapour compression of CO2, Ammonia and stages of compression is new to me and I couldn't start from where to get the knowledge like heat load calculation of cold storage room, panel thickness selection & refrigeration equipment selection like condenser & evaporator sizing , compressor selection etc.

Trane has huge amount of learning courses and materials. Attached are some older learning manuals on refrigeration I had. The link to the site is below. I am not sure if they still produce the attached manuals but there is a lot of learning materials on their site.

Here is another good resource for refrigeration available on the internet.
