According to PTC's 'how to' article titled "Suggested Technique for Setting a Datum Using the Dialog Box", once the dtl option GTOL_DATUMS is set to 'std_asme' while in drawing mode, you are able to place an axial datum on a cylindrical surface with the 'On Geometry' option (Modify>Datum/Axis).
Problem is, the system won't accept any input for the Pick Geom... function when attempting to assign the cylindrical surface, and all I can pick from in the drawing are edges and silhouetted edges, of which none are 'valid geometry'.
Has anyone had any level of success with this functionality in 2000i2 (DC 2000370)?
Thanks in advance,
Recneps
