Grinding on a welding seam after Radiography

Dear experts,

Normally there will be a visual check before RT. The AI will give their comments like smooth grind or add another one pass etc etc. Then RT could be proceeded.

Now, since the first AI on leave, after RT the other AI request to smooth grind again that weld area.

My understanding after RT there should no more additional treatment.

Any other opinion ?

I think the sequence of the welding and inspection should be followed and complete per each step. if something missed on either step, the error should be corrected and the necessary inspection may be repeat as required.
 
I don't know of any reason why it would be considered unacceptable to do that. RT isn't intended for quality control of grinding, and any flaws caused by the grinding would normally be caught by visual inspection.
