Has the ICC put in place specific requirements for roof gardens and landscaped roofs that I need to be aware of(in regard to detailing)? I observed an asphalt rolled roofing material on the vertical face of a parapet at an existing green roof. The parapet is about 10 inches high. Is the use of an asphalt rolled roofing material correct? If not, what should it be (metal flashing?)? If something other than rolled roofing is required, is there a code reference in IBC that you can direct me toward? The age of the building is about 20 years. The age of the roof is unknown. Any information you may have and willing to share on the topic is appreciated.
