I have PCA notes ACI, CRSI.

but i am looking for a book that would help me understand how to design concrete structure "globally".

i dont have experience designing concrete structures but have done several steel structures.

thanks,

depends on your structure that you want to design and also your location, there are some very good books on high rise and similar. However are some good starting points? I would recommend talking to your mentor for good local books/discussion papers.

A multitude of reinforced concrete textbooks and technical articles. Like yourself, I am still looking for "the one" textbook that describes everything that a design engineer needs to know but still haven't found one.

Three things which aren't commonly included in concrete design textbooks include:

Longitudinal (or horizontal) shear
Transmission of axial loads through floor systems
Strut-tie is often poorly covered (in my opinion)

Reynolds Reinforced Concrete Design Handbook..fundamental
