Geophysics in highway projects

I am seeking information concerning the application of surface, shallow geophysics to highway and roadway projects. In particular, I am interested in electrical resistivity methods and typical cost estimates. I am somewhat experienced in the use of electrical resistivity, but not so much for highway-related investigations. Any input will be appreciated.
