Could anybody explain better way than SW Help what Geometry Pattern Option in Linear Pattern Feature means?
I do not the SW Help description below.

"Geometry pattern. Creates the pattern using only the geometry (faces and edges) of the features, rather than patterning and solving each instance of the features."

Can anybody give me a simple example with this option on and off?

Thank you very much.

The way I see it is that the geometry pattern option is used to simplify the pattern and to take the patterned items somewhat out of memory. Without geometry pattern checked it is like you are creating each instance of that pattern from scratch. Does someone else see this differently?

I've also seen some patterns not work with geometry pattern checked, and I am not sure why.

Thanks Jon,
It's very weird, I have a simple cut thru which is later polpulated over the area with Linear Pattern in two directions.
When the Geometry Pattern is not checked I get a zero thickness triangular shaped plane on the top of some of the patterned cuts, with Geometry Pattern checked, everything is OK, very weird.
