Generator Modelling Question

I'm doing a crash course into understanding generator impedances/reactances that the utility for our project is requesting to do their study.

The generator manufacturer has given us all the reactances/impedances/time constants.

My question:

- If its a salient pole generator, is it automatically assumed that I need to use the GENSAL model in PSS/E (or other power simulation software)?
- Both GENSAL and GENROU models require X"d = X"q. However, in the data the manufacturer has provided, these are two different values. Is this typical? Do I choose one and run with it? If the two numbers are different, is that error on the manufacturer's datasheet?

Usually X"d and X"q is different. See for instance this parameter standard.
