Generator AC Hipotential Test

I am looking for a detailed written procedure on how to perform an AC Hipotential test on a newly rewound medium voltage generator. If anyone has a generic procedure or can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Hate to say it but if you have to ask you should probally hire a testing company to do it for you. It is very easy to damage equipment with a hipot if you dont know what you are doing. to find a certified testing company in your area.
 
I agree with zogzog. This type of potentially destructive testing is not fit for on-job-training.

Rest assured we have the tools and the talent to perform these types of tests. Thank you for your concern. We are in the process of reviewing and updating many of our written test procedures, I have always found it helpful to gather input from other sources when doing this.

This is a very diverse group of electrical power professionals. If there was a written step by step procedure for performing AC hipotential tests on generators, it would be here and may prove helpful to me.

 
You are going to have a hard time with power frequesncy AC hipot testing on a large generator, ANSI/IEEE Standard 95 is the procedure for DC hipot testing of Genarators >2300V.

Sorry for the confusion, I must not have been clear enough.

We own (9) Series Resonant tests sets rated from 20kV-50KVA to 250kV-1500KVA. This equipment is designed specifically for testing large generators and/or power cables rated to 345kV. We have plenty of equipment and plenty of qualified field engineers. This is not a problem.

I was just looking for a little help with updating our test procedures.

Also there is a blurb in IEEE 62.2 - 2004 with some typical precautions for testing. IEEE 62.2 also refers to IEEE 4 for test techniques, which I am not familiar with.
