Hello everybody!
While designing a transmisison system where multiple transmission stages are involved, a doubt has arisen.
As a general rule, given a power to be transmitted, is it better (in terms of gear transmission efficiency), to transmit it at low torque and high speed, or at low speed and high torque?
I would say that the first option is the best one, as high speeds create problems with the lubricant, which cause the efficiency to drop, but I am not sure at all, so I am asking what are your thoughts about it.
I thank you in advance for your attention and availability!!
