GE Gas Turbine Frame 5 1

Dear Engineers.

I would like to know what are the parts ( Mech,Elec and instruments ) to be replaced in the major overhaul of GE Frame 5, 25MVA,18.5MW.?

Generally the hot parts of the engine would be exchanged for a refurbished set. Other than damaged / broken parts which would need to be rpelaced, the rest of the machine would be normally be cleaned, inspected, overhauled, calibrated, etc as required but not replaced. Auxiliary motors would have their bearings replaced I guess, and consumables such as filters and breathers would be replaced annually or on demand.

GE will give you a more definitive list - their manuals are pretty good, or speak to their service group.
