Hi, i am new to this industry hence i hope i can have some help.
1) How to i calculate the GTIAC Cooling load?
2) How do i do a total life cycle cost analysis, operation cost and payback?

I hope i can have some advice to guide me through the above question.
Thanks.

Hi LittleInch, thanks for the sharing. i understand that with cooler inlet air, the performance of the gas turbine will improve. Would you know for the above assumption, how can i calculate the cooling load? Thanks.

I think cooling load would be like any other air cooling application?

If by performance you mean throughput and power output, yes it will improve. If you mean overall cycle efficiency, no, because you need electricity to cool.
turbine cooling with refrigeration is a cheap way to boost power at expense of efficiency.

Could i use this formular , Q = m*Cp*DeltaT to find out cooling load?
which m = 1119550.64lb/hr = 507819.63kg/hr, DeltaT = 31.4DegC - 15DegC, and the Cp = 1.005kJ/kg.K?
Is the above value correct? Thanks.

for cooling air you need enthalpy since you will condense water.
It should be really the same like cooling air for a space in normal HVAC. use psychroemtric chart or tables etc.

I think there is some more science there. For a similar case of Turbine Inlet Air Cooling (GTIAC), we contacted ARANER Company and they made full study for us and they finally supplied the system. We are very happy with its performance. [glasses]

You can check at
I can send you copy of the study if you need.

I think condensing water on turbine inlet air will cause problems with the turbine. That may limit air temps.
