Galvanized Anchor Rods

Wondering if anyone has any information pertaining to the adverse effects of galvanizing items embedded in concrete. More specifically, whether or not galvanizing reduces the pullout strength of anchor rods (bond strength vs. a uncoated rod), or if there is any information that suggests that the chemicals involved in the galvanizing process reacts poorly with conrete.

galvanised reinforcement is used in concrete all the time, not issues as far as I am aware of.

Galvanized anchor rods are contraindicated for high strength steels due to hydrogen embrittlement.

I understand hydrogen embrittlement due to galvanizing is only a problem for steels with Ultimate Tensile Strength of around 150 ksi or greater. So not a problem with most anchor bolts.

yes...typical F1554 anchor rods come in GR36,55, and 105. Hydrogen embrittlement is only a problem for the 105s.
