I am designing a small reinforced concrete building with gabled column-beam frames, all connections are rigid.
Where can I find a discussion or examples of moment analysis and resultant forces for the analysis of the frame in 2D?
The references I have or have been referred to all show either a pinned connection at the peak or pinned connections at the bases. Neither of these apply to this system.
There are basically four structural members - the two vertical column supports on each side supporting the two beams meeting at the peak.
I guess my question is - since the connections are rigid, will I be dealing with five (5) moments and 10 forces? In other words forces and a moment at each connection including the column bases - is this the correct approach?
Thanks.
