Hi
I was dragging a part in an assembly to observe the action on a mechanism and it suddenly jumped to an unknown destination in the 3-d space. Not only that, but now I can not recover the part. The assembly lines became dark/bold and the drag feature was no longer available.

I tried to delete the part and update links in hopes of just adding it back in. But, it seems as though it is frozen the assembly settings/relationships that occurred when the part jumped to an unknown location.

I have had this happen when I have a section view in my assembly.
Somtimes while dragging it into the assembly, I inadvertantly drag it into the "cut away" area of the assembly, thus the component disappears completely.
The draft will show tht the assembly needs to be updated, hence the dark borders in the view.

Not sure if this is your issue, but just thought I would add this as it could be a possibity.
