Hello,

I want to know how to calculate the friction factor if i have a foundation slab on roof structure with insulation between Roof and Foundation slab? can anyone cite any sources or tests? I would really appreciate any help or guidence. Thank you in advance

If its on a root structure its not a foundation slab then? This sounds very weird.

You will have to provide a sketch.

Generally coefficient of friction depends on the properties. You need to define what the "roof structre" is.

A detailed cross section is needed.

So i made a rough sketch of how it looks like:

by roof i mean reinforced concrete slab (black). The building has a large flat slab (black). On top of this reinforced concrete slab their is a small slab/foundation (blue) on which a frame is supported and between this so called foundation and slab their is a insulation material (red).

I wouldn't rely on friction in this case. If the added foundation is there to stay, it needs positive tie downs.

ignore the insulation and your friction factor is concrete to concrete.
