When doing a frequency response analysis, is there a way to apply a 40Hz frequency to a node? I'm trying to analyze a frame that has a 40Hz vibration applied to one of its members.
Any Help?

What do you mean by a 40 Hz vibration. Is there a force och a forced displacement. Both can be analysed in frequency or time-domain depending on what you are looking for.

Apply for example 1 kN at a node and request solution frequency 40 Hz in frequency domain. Or apply a time-history function to the load simulating 40 Hz and run a transient analysis.

I might be able to be clearer if I understood the problem better. (Maybe its to late on friday night :-))

Good Luck

Thomas
