Hi everyone,

I am currently modeling a warehouse with a roof truss structure in SAP2000. I released torsion and moment, but when I analyzed the model, a warning about an unstable structure appeared. How can I fix this issue?
I hope someone would help me as I am completely stumped by this issue. Thank you so much.

The column releases would be the primary problem. Otherwise it seems similar to a common old school pin truss model. In reality, your top chord rarely has this many pins. It is also common to have some small gaps at the web intesections to keep the fabrication simple.

You need to assign the connection of column to the foundation as fixed, to keep the frame stable.

It's no mystery...the columns are hinged top and bottom, so the structure is unstable.
