are there any stress related advantaged of using a four elbow expansion loop (on same plane as the main direction) or a six elbow expansion loop (on two planes)?

Any other advantages beyond the obvious (arrangement / material consumption)?

Kind regards

Six elbow loops are used to put the loop at a different elevation so that the pipe rack is kept clear at the elevation of the run for other, parallel pipes. Making it with six elbows, with vertical legs, will have an impact on flexibility, but that is not the reason to put in the vertical legs. If you need more flexibility, the most effective means is to make the legs of a four elbow loop longer.
