Force on Truss Joints

Hi

I have to figure out the forces acting upon the joints of a truss-like section. I have attached schematic, it is relatively simple. I'm really rusty with my strucutral mechanics.

The black dots on the drawing represent fixed joints. What would be the forces acting upon those joints? The force of 25000 N (pulling by a chain) is a horizontal force acting upon the section.

No it is for a pratical application at work. work for a recycling/co-gen plant.
 
If you are calculating by hand, all of the load goes into the horizontal member.

If you are using a program, almost all of it still goes into the horizontal member but a small load goes into the other members because the horizontal member stretches and so stretches the diagonal inducing tension in it and the vertical component goes into the vertical member as compression.

Would I be able to calculate the magnitude of the tension and compressive forces on those members if I got the dimensions?

You would also need to have the relative E and A values too for the elongation calcs.
