Does anyone have any experience using Foamed Glass Aggregate as a foundation subbase, that is, the layer of crushed stone directly beneath a concrete footing? Looking for any experience or insight as to considering FGA as an alternative to conventional foundation subbases for uniform bearing loads.

For highways products in the UK, Type 1 material is oftern specified. Type 1 material has a list of criteria that it needs to pass, Loss Angeles, soundness etc. I would like to see what characteristics Foamed glass aggregate has before I say its good enough for a starter layer.
