Fluorescent Lamp Model for Spice Programs 2

I'm looking to download a Fluorescent lamp model that I can import into a spice program. Any help would be appreciated.

You might try contacting ballast manufacturers, such as Advance or Acme.

I used Google and searched for "Spice models" to get to the above.

That link talks and explains about a suitable spice model, however there is still no downloadable model on that site, unfortunately.

Well, roygrif, maybe you can just jump in and develop your own model based on the info in the article.

Then you'll be the expert!

Unfortunately I have no experience in designing models for spice and wouldn't even try to attempt it. I guess if I knew how to I probably wouldn't have posted on the message board in the first place would I?

Maybe what dpc is suggesting is that you spend a few hours trying to develop a model for SPICE. GordS gave you a useful tip, now you have to show some initiative. If you are not willing to even attempt designing the model, why should people on this forum help you any further?

In answer to your original question, "I'm looking to download a fluorescent lamp model for SPICE", it appears the answer is no. It's now your choice to decide whether you want to try to develop the model yourself. I'm sure you would learn a lot from the experience and develop a new skill that might help you in your current and/or future employment.

If I can add to redtrumpet's comment, I don't see how using somebody else's model can possibly give you results you can be confident of, if you have no idea how to develop the model yourself. Also, you are going to have to embed that model into your own system model (fluoro lights don't just happen - they are part of a bigger system).

If you don't understand your model (and to understand it you would have to have a good idea of how to develop it) you will never know if the output you are getting is worth anything.
