I have recently been doing some calcs to determine the maximum flow rate of Nitrogen through a regulator (globe) valve. I used Crane TP 410, and compared the result with the result from the I
SA/ANSI equations. The results are similar at around 4500 from crane and 3963 scfm from ISA/ANSI. The issue is when I compare these flow rates to the flow curve provided by the vendor they are way off. The flow chart shows 1 SCFM at the specified inlet and outlet pressure! I tried the calcs for a similar swagelok valve and obtained similar results where the calculated values were much higher than the flow chart. I can't figure out what is going on here. Has anyone had a similar issue? Please feel free to share, Thanks!
