FLAT HEAD WITH NOZZLES ASME VIII DIV 1 CALC

Hi am new to pressure vessel design with flat heads,
I am looking to calculate the thicknees of the head with two openings suitable for socket welding 1/2" sch 80 pipe. material sa 240-316 diameter 6.625" and will butt welded to 6" NB sch 40 pipe.

MAWP is 40 bar
temp -20 deg c to 100 deg c

Any help?

I need section II part D to work out value S at 100 degrees C in the equation ug 34(1)

Ug 23 step 1
A = 0.125 /(0.08415m*0.007112m)

A = 208.8642663

SMOKES,it would appear you are calculating an allowable longitudinal compressive stress.

Are you designing for external loading maybe?
