Flashing Flow through orifice

Does anyone know of any good correlations for calculating the flow through an orifice for sub-cooled and saturated liquids that will flash through the orifice throat?
 
I think that McCrometer or Micro Motion presentations include lab data from Southwest Research regarding the flashing liquids and wet gas. The data is used to sell other flow measurement technogies instead of orifice plates in such noisy applications.
 
I'd use a frozen equilibrium approach. That's code for use subcooled or sat'd liquid properties, respectively, through the orifice (i.e. no flashing), then use two phase correlations downstream of that, if needed. The reasoning for this is it takes a finite amount of time to reach an equilibrium. It doesn't happen instantaneously as the fluid is flowing through the orifice.

The specific case of water flashing to steam through an orifice was discussed by ES Monroe in Chemical Engineering, April 12, 1976, pgs 119-123.
