My company would like to install a screen as a flange gasket for shipping new pump stations to prevent gravel, rocks, debris from entering the pumps where they become caught in the impellers.

After the first hours of operation this gasket would then be removed and a standard gasket installed.

I have never seen this product, and we will make it ourselves if need be, but would prefer to purchase one if available.

Anyone know of a source for such a thing, or a source that could custom make one?

Someone told me that engineers are like little children, so I offer a Big Red Star to all who try to help me.

Thank You.

Offcourse CRG is right....these are suction strainer added an outer side very fine mesh....after commisioning of machine this outer mesh is removed because it chock due to fine particles that may be in the pipelines resulting in high delta P.....
I have seen the suction strainer for Reciprocating compressor having three layers..the internal one is thick mesh about 3mm thick plate+ 3mm holes with equal pitch(size may be vary)...the middle layer is something course mesh wire...and the outermost is very fine one...After commisioning one or two days the external mesh is removed..
