Hello,

Is there anyone know the common causes of noticing white smoke coming from the exhaust of a vertical fired crude oil heater that has both combustion and convention chambers, with three burners working with gas or oil?

Thanks for participating

Water in the oil?

Does that mean probability of coil tube leak?

Maybe or maybe your fuel is contaminated.

White smoke out of your car exhaust is typically caused by a cylinder head gasket leaking coolant into your cylinders.

Same thing here.

If you have a steam coil in the convecction maybe a leak in the coil has happenned.

If the smoke was black I'd guess that you're leaking oil into the fired side of the heater.

Black smoke is simply incomplete combustion. Many sources of that. Too much fuel, not enough oxygen. Could be the burners or fuel or a leak of something into the heater.

If there is a convection recovery heat , be sure that a steam leaking is in the tube coil-. If has not steam coil, you had oil contaminated with water
