I am doing some work for a government facility that requires fire protection. I can design the system for the entire site except for the sections of the buildings which are EMP (electro magnetic pulse) tunnels. One possible fix I've been considering is to use Schedule 80 PVC designed for fire protection purposes. I just thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone has any thoughts/experience with this. PVC piping is being removed from many other tunnels around the world because of the very toxic and corrosive fumes that are released when PVC burns.
Any electrical components in the vicinity of a PCV fire will be completely stuffed afterwards, even if not directly burned.
Not sure if that answers what you are trying to work out. But at least, you should investigate using other non-metallic piping instead.
