filled epoxy modulus of elasticity vs flexural strength

A rep for a manufacturer of industrial epoxy pruducts has said that "Modulus of Elasticity can be compared to Flexural Strength ( ASTM D790 ). XXXXX has a flexural strength of 4800 psi."

Devcon list modulus of elasticity for metal repair putties and wear compounds. Most values range from 7 to 9 x 10^5 psi.

Did I confuse the rep with my modulus elasticity question?

Yes, you did. There are several elastic moduli, with the most common one being Young's modulus (at least for non-polymeric materials). For bulk polymers, the flexural modulus is most common. This is not to be confused with the flexural strength.

Modulus of Elasticity has nothing to do with Strength.
