I'm working in AutoCAD 2005 with some files that were created as AutoCAD 2004 drawings. I need to save them as AutoCAD 2004 drawings to avoid losing information in them that was created by LANDesk. Every time I re-open the files, however, my "File save as" settings under "Tools/Options..." have changed back to "AutoCAD 2000/2000 LT Drawing." No matter what I do, I can't get it to remember the "AutoCAD 2004 Drawing" setting. Is there another setting I'm missing that's overriding this when I open and close drawings?

tools>options>open and save>file save> choose 2000 will always save your files in 2000 format

Try setting the options, close AutoCAD. Restart it and check the settings a second time. It should "stick" if AutoCAD closes normally.
