We are having a problem where 2 people open the same Pro/E file and then one saves over the other's changes. We are running Pro/E Wildfire 3.0 on Linux. I know that Linux and Unix don't do automatic file locking like Windows. But most other applications that run on Linux/Unix check files themselves. Can Pro/E do this? Is there some fix? (We are not using data management system at this time. Just storing files on the network in directories.)

It is how ProE works also in windows. The last person who save wins:-) Only solution is to get a pdm system or split the files in different folders withe different rigths.

BTW ProE is not "save over the other" It add a new version like:

123456.prt.1
123456.prt.2
