Hello friends

I have a problem. I received from a my friend a CD with many projects in drw file extention, I know that these files may be opened with Pro/eng. I have asked a trial software but I don't able to open any files. May you help me?

Thank you in advance.

Under normal circumstances YES.

If the drw is a snapshot created in the original drawing then NO (A snapshot of a drawing looses it's assiciation with the model).

You should ask your source for the drw files, to either send you the prt files along with the drw files or you should ask them to save a snapshot of their drawing and send it to you.

You will NOT be able to open the DRW file with e-drawings because a DRW file in Pro/E is different to an AutoCAD DRW file. Pro/E drawings need to related model and are a completely different kettle of fish to an AutoCAD drawing. You need to export from Pro/E as either AutoCAD DRW fie or a DXF if you wish to use e-drawings to view these files.

You can open the drawings VIEW ONLY without the models.
