has any body use FRP rods as reinforcement?

Yes.
I have used it in the floor slab for a MRI.
Concrete design with FRP is different from design with steel. It is more conservative. Also, not all FRP products are alike and there is CRFP. Contact supplier for test reports of their products and design values.

Thanks again SperlingPE.
