FEATUREWORKS Error

I just received a 3D model that needs to be modified. When I open it in SW, the only option that I get in the Feature Manager Design Tree is "Imported" icon. So I went to "FeatureWorks > Recognize Features". However, I got an error message, that is, "Input body is invalid. Please check the part using solidworks check entity command". So what's next! Any suggestions!
