Features from family table part to generic.

I have a part which has a family table part.
I made some changes in the relative part not in the generic and those changes does not reflect in the generic part.
How can I reflect the changes did in the relative part to the generic?

Commonsense tells me to edit the generic part and propergate those changes thru the family table.

The generic model is in the first row in the table. The table entries belonging to the generic can be changed only by modifying the actual part, suppressing, or resuming features; you cannot change the generic model by editing its entries in the Family Table.

Yep, but ... If you open a family member and add a feature you should find that the feature has been added to the generic and suppressed in it and all other family members. (Or so it seems to work in WF2)

... Maybe it makes sense: Say I have a family of bolts, maybe a few dozen members and I want to create a drilled shank instance ...?

Jeff, you are correct.

In a nutshell, adding features to the generic model, will cuase those features to show up on all the instances.

Adding features to an instance, will cuase those features to be active in the instance, and suppressed in all other instances, plus the generic.

Simply resume suppressed features and select Y or N or * as needed to have them show up in all or selected instances.

Hi ALL,

Sorry to bring this topic up again, I have been off on vacation.
If you only have a generic and one family table item, you can inside the family table choose edit from the menu and pick copy instance to generic.
I also have a setting in my model tree config file (mdl_tree_cfg_file) to show suppressed items in the generic all the time. Then like 3dlogix states you can resume and suppress from the model tree in the generic state.
