Hi,
I am new to FEA with CATIA V5 and still learning.
I was trying to analyze an assembly in GPS/GAS and noticed that the Analysis file did not update when I added new components into the Product file, meaning the Analysis file did not create mesh for the newly added components.

Does anybody know if Analysis file can update itself with new mesh automatically created for the new components?
If that is possible, how do you do that?

Thanks!

Not that I am aware of. Maybe in the utility menu, there is an option where you can ask to automately mesh the part. What I used to do is just press the mesh button to create the mesh of my new parts. It is not much longer.

Thank you franc11HD for your feedback!
I had an opportunity to ask the same question to the person @
Dassault Systèmes and she also told me that mesh can be manually created after you add new parts to the product file.

I tried myself, but I didn't know which command to use.. Left or right clicking on the "Nodes and Elements" on the Trees didn't seem to give me an option to add mesh manually.
If possible, could you pin-point what command to use to create manual mesh on new parts?

Thank you!

When you are in the analysis module, you click on the litte pyramide on the right side of your screen, in the icon menues. This asks you thesize of the mesh, linear or quadratic(not sure if this is correct term) then you can select to part on which you want to apply that mesh.

Sorry, I can't put images. I used to work a lot with it, but in my new job, they don't have that module installed.

The words Automatically and FEA give me the willies when put together.

Yes, the "Pyramid" was the command "Octree Tetrahedron Mesher" from Model Manager toolbar. It then asked me which part to mesh and I was able to select the new part that's been added.

Thank you for your help!
