I am looking for a reference that translates Fastener torque to tensile load in the fastener. I believe there is a mil-std or something, but I searched on-line and could not find anything. Something that is a mil-spec or that I can validate is preferred.

Check the Fastener FAQS at the

Also, Google the site for torque preload. Lots.
