Fall Protection

Hi,

I am currently working on a project to streamline the costs of erecting edge protection on UK Civil Engineering sites with particular reference to bridge decks and multi storey buildings. I am interested in getting away from the more traditional form of scaffold and toe board type protection. Has anyone got any contacts/websites/experience etc that show these types of proprietery systems?

jag001, What are "these types" of systems you're refering to? You wouldn't be considering personal fall protection I don't think.

On concrete bridge decks we haven't found anything more cost effective than shooting down a 2 x 4 handrail.

I was thinking more along the lines of a barrier system, possibly a free standing system or drilled and fixed sockets into which posts can be installed. Any ideas??

Welding 'cups' on the edge of steel form work may be a way to speed up the process.All you have to do is put your posts in and attach the fencing, wire rope or nets. But I have not in 37 years in construction seen a system for sale.

There is a new product in Scotland called Easy Scale Scaffolding. Its a four point suspended system currently used on highrise buildings and bridges. I think Macgregor Shoring is the local distributor.
