Fabric Ductwork in a Pool Enviroment

We have a client that has expressed interest in using fabric ductwork (like DuctSox

http://www.ductsox.com).

The product seems fairly applicable to pool enviroments: washable, not affected by corrossion, good airflow pattern control.

Having said the above, I've never used fabric ductwork. Anyone have any experience; good, bad?

I would be worried about mildew.

You can actually choose a porous material so the duct is being continually dried from the dry supply air stream.

A local gym uses this in a small 25m, 3 lane pool room. The type installed has a band of perforations, so must be the 'comfort flow' variety. Looks pretty awful when it deflates. Didn't ever see it deflated in the cooling season, but noticed it deflated the other day - was thinking that the room was being heated with the pool water on mild autumn days.

I've been looking at this duct for a year and a half now and it looks pretty much as new.

They have a support system called the '3 in 1' that basically holds the shape of the ductwork when deflated.

I also like that you can take down the ductwork and wash it in a commercial laundry facility.

I know they make a USDA approved antimicrobial sock. If mildew is a concern, you might consider it.
