To start with, the '
F1' button has nothing to do with any sort of "search function", at least not directly. The '
F1' button invokes the 'Help' utility, which will display the User Documentation for the current operation that the user was using when he pressed the '
F1' button. For example, if you were creating an Extrude and you needed to learn something about one of the options on the dialog, all you have to do is press '
F1' and help for the Extrude function will be displayed.
Now, once that page from the User Documentation is displayed, there is a 'search' option with a button which looks like a 'magnifying glass'. You can then type in any word you wish and it will give you a list of documents where that word was used and selecting any one of them will cause that page of the User Documentation to be displayed.
