Hi,

I have a bunch of points on a surface. How can I validate that these points are on the surface or some distance off of it, then calculate the standard deviation.

Thanks

you can use Analysis |Deviation|Gauge, checking to validate it.It'll helpfull.

Hi,

This is in refererenc to my orginal, "Extracting Points for Standard Deviation" posting.

I uploaded a MS Word file with a handful of pics to better explain on what I'm trying to accomplish.

As you should see from the pictures, there's a handful points that should be along the face of the profile that it outlines.

I'm trying to determine if each of these points are actualy on the face & if the are not, what distance does it deviate from it.

With collected data, I will probably calculate the standard deviation.

Please suggest methods to produce accurate results.

Thanks
