I am designing a platform support bracket which will attach to a thin-walled tank. Can anyone offer alternative methods other than the one's listed in Soln's post referenced above?

Soln, were you ever able to find a credible source for an alternate design method?

Thanks in advance!

Bednar's pressure vessel book includes methods for circular pads/plugs and for line loads on tank. I would think both are pretty approximate, although it is more obvious with the second one.
