I have an assembly I created in Inventor 2014. I need to export file so it has a "3ds" file extension. Not a "3ds Max" file.
Someone needs to look at my assembly and cannot use the file if it is a 3ds max file. It just needs to have .3ds
Thanks

What program are they intending to import into?
3d studio max can import iam/ipt files out of the box (not sure what version that started happening in though.. maybe 2011)
You can also just export as step file too..
